Fifteen hundred students at West Hollow made ribbons to bring awareness for breast cancer. Some decorated their ribbons in memory of loved ones, others with facts about breast cancer.
You can't help but be moved when you walk into the building, when all you see is a sea of pink from students, and faculty showing support.
Ms Gloria Gill, who lost her mother to breast cancer, and Mr Petrucci spearheaded this inaugural fundraiser. Faculty each donated $5, and most dressed in pink. The students donated a dollar at a chance to win a beta fish and receive a cookie from Panera.
Over 60 students volunteered to tie pink ribbons on trees, decorate the halls with posters, and to hang the 1,500 decorated ribbons.
It was a huge success; they raised over $2,000, and most of all--brought awareness about breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness month.
