A month-long photo exhibit and scholarship contest will be held at the Dix Hills library with a kickoff event on Friday, February 3. The 16 photos (all of which have been featured in the Half Hollow Hills Patch Photo of the Day column) will engage students in a writing contest to inspire an appreciation of local beauty, culture and communication. College scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 will be awarded to three winners of the essay contest.
