Jenna Rose to Play Westbury, Releases New Song

Half Hollow Hills' own Internet sensation, Jenna Rose Swerdlow, is set to perform at one of Long Island's most iconic venues. 

Jenna, will join several other YouTube hitmakers on the stage at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on May 22. Tickets for the show, entitled "Totally Tube!!!" go on sale Friday morning at 10 a.m. 

"She's really excited about it," the 12-year-old's mother, Debbie Swerdlow, told Patch Wednesday while her daughter was off rehearsing. 

Jenna will perform her hit song, "My Jeans," which now has more than six million views on YouTube. Jenna will also sing "O.M.G," but her mother said it may be toned down. The song, released last month, has been slammed by Internet critics as being too provocative for a 12-year-old. 

"We will probably change a couple of things because people thought it was over the top for her," Debbie Swerdlow said of "O.M.G."

Jenna, a seventh grader, recorded her newest song, "Don't Give Up," earlier this week. A music video is on the way.

"It's against the haters," Debbie Swerdlow said of the new song. "It's very inspirational."

Jenna has taken up a fight against cyber-bullying recently. She told PIX 11 News that one commenter on YouTube told her to "go cut myself and go die."

Jenna is not the only young singer dealing with the darker side of Internet fame. Police in California are investigating several death threats against 13-year-old Rebecca Black, whose viral video, "Friday," has more than 114 million views on YouTube.
