Prostate Cancer Support Group Meeting, Getting Ready for School Classes on Tap Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Half Hollow Hills! Here's a rundown of what's happening today in the area and what you need to know.

A free prostate cancer support group, sponsored by Integrated Medical Foundation, meets today at 6:30 p.m. at 532 Broadhollow Road in Melville. The groups are moderated by an oncology social worker and provide an opportunity for men (and their partners if desired) to share their experiences and to help them cope with diagnosis and treatment. Prostate cancer experts will speak at various meetings.  There will be a Q&A about Provenge at this support group. All are welcome! For further information and to register, call 631-247-0100 or email  info@IMFcares.org.  

The Huntington Arts Council wraps up its summer festival this week, with performances Tuesday through Sunday night. The festival, which started June 27, wraps up Sunday with Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys. 

The Dix Hills father who has been missing since June was last seen wearing a grey polo at a West Babylon scrap yard, according to new information posted on a Facebook page dedicated to finding 46-year-old Robert Mayer. Read more here
