On Friday night the grapplers from Hills East traveled to Bay Shore to face the Marauders on their home mats. In what proved to be a pin-fest, and an easy victory for the Hills East T-Birds, they crushed the Marauders 49-25. Of the fifteen weight classes competing, Hills East won 9 matches, five of them by pins.
Standouts on the mat for Hills East were Christopher Martinez at 99 lbs, pinning his opponent, Jack Scurti at 106 lbs with a 11-3 victory, Matt Haenel at 145 lbs pinning his opponent, Joe Long, at 160 lbs pinning his opponent, Maleik Henry at 170 lbs with a 9-2 win, Michael Morris at 182 lbs with a pin, and Connor Quinlan with a quick pin in 56 seconds over his opponent. Anthony Diasparra and Damon Aguilar won by forfeits in their respective weight classes.
