Feb. 17: Playoff Game for Hills East Girls

Here are five things to know about today in Half Hollow Hills.

1. Good luck to the High School East girls varsity basketball team on its first playoff game today against Smithtown West. The game starts at 4 p.m. on the home court.

2. Pick up a copy of MSG Varsity the Magazine this week to see Hannah Finger of the Half Hollow Hills High School West badminton team featured on its cover.

3. Learn how to create a beautiful Chan Luu inspired wrap bracelet today at the Dix Hills branch of the Half Hollow Hills Community Library at 6:30 p.m. Register at the library or call 631-421-4530 and bring a clipboard (adults only).

4. In addition to allegations of tainting kosher food with non-kosher food, the management of Morrell Caterers, which operates partly out of Temple Beth Torah in Melville, is also accused of pocketing about $10 million in tips over the past six years that were supposed to go to as many as 500 employees, according to a class-action lawsuit filed Thursday.
