Here are five things to know about today in Half Hollow Hills.

1. School is back in session in Half Hollow Hills. There's less than 80 days to go until summer vacation.

2. "Lend Me a Tenor" is now playing at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center. A sensation on Broadway and in London’s West End, this madcap, screwball comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter. Click here for tickets.

3. Plans to expand the Dix Hills mosque on Deer Park Avenue are underway. Preliminary blueprints fall within the town's zoning guidelines, but some residents are concerned with the plans.

4. All Half Hollow Hills High School varsity and junior varsity sports tryouts begin next Monday, March 5.

5. A 24-year-old Dix Hills man was Sunday morning when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree on Sweet Hollow Road in Melville. Devin Wolcott was transported by the Melville Fire Department to Huntington Hospital, where he was admitted with numerous life-threatening injuries.
