HSW Student Helps Kick Out Cancer at Children's Hospital

16-year-old honor student organizes toy drive for children with cancer.

Half Hollow Hills High School West junior wants to kick out cancer.

On March 30, he, along with his dad, Dr. Steven Stummer, brother Jordan, the BW Gotschee Soccer Club and The New York Cosmos held a toy drive for children at the Cohen's Children's Hospital of New Hyde Park New York and The Ronald McDonald House.

The children at all three facilities received toys, soccerballs, basketballs, footballs, t-shirts and sweatshirts with generous donations from BWG Cosmos, Fury Basketball and Flag Football of Dix Hills, Vitriturf, Einsteins Attic of Northport, Dick's Sporting Goods, Town Bagel of Bellmore as well as many other very generous individuals who gave close to $5,000.00 worth of gifts.

After a successful first go, Matthew plans to make the toy drive an annual event.
