July 24: Four Long Island Olympians

Here are five things to know about today in Half Hollow Hills.

1. Four Long Islanders, including one from Huntington, are preparing for the gold in the upcoming London Olympics. .

2. Teens can make their own  tonight at 7 p.m. Dress up your toes and ankles with beaded jewelry. Register in person at the library, $4.

3. Every Thursday, children, parents and grandparents are invited to join in the fun of creating their very own Challah to take home. Knead the dough, braid the Challah, watch it rise, music and song and children’s raffle. From 4:30pm-5:30pm at Chabad House, 498 Sweet Hollow Road in Melville. By RSVP Only. 4. Town Meetings to keep in mind: The Town Board will meet on July 24 at 7 p.m. in Town Hall; The Planning Board will meet on July 25 at 7 p.m. in Town Hall and hold a public hearing on the capital budget; The Zoning Board will meet on July 26 at 6 p.m. in Town Hall.

5. Sunny skies with a high of 89 degrees are expected today in Half Hollow Hills.
