Local College Graduates

Cornell University announced the following students graduated with the Class of 2011 during Commencement ceremonies in Ithaca, NY:

• Matthew Giambrone of Melville graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

• Jordan Bernstein of Dix Hills graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology.

The following received a degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., at its 166th commencement ceremony on May 9, 2011.

• Hailey Friedman of Melville, daughter of Mark Friedman and Debra Friedman, received a Bachelor of Arts from Emory College of Emory University.

• Ethan Stern of Melville, son of Dr. Stuart Stern and Lynne Stern, received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University.

• Chelsey Cowan of Melville, daughter of Gary Cowan and Ann Cowan, received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University.

• Pavan Reddy of Dix Hills, son of Madhu Reddy and Dr. Sarala Reddy, received a Bachelor of Arts from Emory College of Emory University.

• Remy Goldberg of Dix Hills, daughter of Brian Goldberg and Brenna Goldberg, received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University.

The following local residents received undergraduate degrees from Villanova University at the 2011 Commencement Ceremony on May 15, in Villanova Stadium:

• Eric Magleby of Dix Hills, NY

The University of Scranton conferred more than 970 bachelor's and associate's degrees at its undergraduate commencement on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. The following local residents earned degrees from Scranton:

• Peter T. Gomez of Melville earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies.

The following area residents received degrees from Fairfield University:

• Katelyn H. Murphy, a resident of Melville, who studied in Fairfield's Dolan School of Business, received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

• Annabelle M. Moseley, a resident of Dix Hills, who studied in Fairfield's Arts & Science/University Coll, received a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.

The following area residents received degrees from West Virginia University:

• Jeffrey Burgazzoli, a resident of Dix Hills, received a Bachelor Degree in History from West Virginia University.
