March 9: 65-Year-Old Bridge to Be Demolished

Here are five things to know about today in Half Hollow Hills.

1. Route 110 near the Northern State Parkway, in Melville, will be for the demolition of the 65-year-old bridge over the Route 110, which will help facilitate the construction of the new bridge.

2. Melville's Henry Schein, a wholesale medical supplies company, has once again been named to The company, which  this year, tops the list for social responsibility and global competitiveness.

3. Local philanthropist James Metzger is will present the Half Hollow Hills Lacrosse Team with the first of four $25,000 checks. Metzger previously , to establish a men’s lacrosse program endowment as well as support the capital improvement fund, which benefits all 17 sports.

4. Make Prom a night to remember for a local girl in need. The Tri-County Youth Association, Family Service League and Town of Huntington has teamed up to  from residents and local businesses to be given away for free. Donations are being accepted at .

5. Hills East Watch Hills go up against North Babylon on Monday, March 26 at on 6:30 p.m.
