May 19: Lions Club Gala, Candlewood Concert, House Hunt

1. There's rain in the forecast again today, but if it holds off, the Hills West softball team will travel to West Babylon for a 4 p.m. first pitch. The Lady Colts only loss this year came against West Babylon. 

2. The Melville Lions Club is hosting a fundraising at Oheka Castle in Huntington from 6- 10 p.m. Tickets are $95 per person or $1,200 for a reserved table for 10. Ticket prices are tax deductible and can be purchased by calling 631-824-3666 or online.

3. will put on its first of four spring tonight at 7:30 p.m. The 6th grade orchestra, 8th grade band and 7th/8th grade concert choir will perform.

4. Join presenter Jack Schnur to the music of siblings George & Ira Gershwin, as performed by Frank Sinatra, Ethel Merman, Lena Horne, Gene Kelly and many others at the Dix Hills branch of the library from 2:30- 3:30 p.m. Shown during this presentation will be rare clips from the 1930 early color film of Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra performing “Rhapsody in Blue” and commentaries from Michael Feinstein and Leonard Bernstein.
