May 31: Crackdown on Handicapped Parking Abuse

Here are five things to know about today in Half Hollow Hills.

1. More than 100 Long Islanders were arrested over Memorial Day weekend on charges of drunken driving or driving while ability impaired by drugs. 2. Think twice before abusing that open handicapped parking space. Rachelle Chambers of Dix Hills is one of nine volunteers appointed to the Town’s  this month.

3. Bring your kids down to the Melville branch of the Half Hollow Hills Community Library today and watch their imaginations come to life during , 4:30 p.m.

4. Looking to get ahead in the workforce? The Dix Hills branch of the Half Hollow Hills Community Library is offering  today at 5:30 p.m.

5. The High School East Thespians are hosting a car wash this upcoming Sunday at Applebee's in Huntington Station from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. to raise money for its student-run production of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," to be performed at High School East June 8-9.
