The 1st Day of Spring, the Circus and Purim

Where/When: Borders Bookstore, 231 Airport Plaza Blvd., Farmingdale; Saturday, 2 p.m.

Why Go?: Kids ages 8 to 12 are invited to celebrate the release of the new movie Rodrick Rules, which will be in theaters March 25. There will be a trivia contest, games, Wimpy activities, and more and fans of the books can even submit their own book review for possible publication on Borders.com.

2. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

Where/When: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 1255 Hempstead Tpke, Uniondale; Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Why Go?: To see the new Ringling Bros. "Fully Charged!" show complete with clowns, acrobats, elephants, tigers and much more.

Pricing: $15-$150; Purchase online or at the box office.

Where/When: , 501 Vanderbilt Pkwy, Dix Hills; Sunday, 4:15 p.m.

Why Go?: To celebrate Purim, under the Sea! A Magillah reading will take place at 4:15 p.m. followed by a Bubble Mania Show by Doug Rougeux and themed refreshments at 4:45 p.m.

Pricing: $7 per person or $28 per family; RSVP to 631-351-8672.

4. First Day of Spring Event

Where/When: Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium, 1660 Route 25A, Cold Spring Harbor; Sunday, 11 a.m.

Why Go?: Children ages 5 and up will learn how to identify local flowers and trees and then plant their own seeds to take home and watch grow.

Pricing: $2 with general admission of $6 for adults and $4 for children; RSVP to 516-692-6768.

5. Half Hollow Hills Varsity Baseball

Where/When: at 10 a.m. and at 11 a.m.

Why Go?: The Hills West Colts take on William Floyd and the Hills East Thunderbirds compete against Clarke.
