Two Barbeques Queued Up For Friday

Get your grill on.

We like our events calendar to be chock full of fun things to do but it's a rare occurrence when there are not one, but two barbeques on the same night being offered up in the area.

The first is the uniquely named Shabbat Under the Stars Barbeque and Services at South Huntington Jewish Center. The food  and fun starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by Kabbalat Services at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and teens, $3 for children 12 and under but hold on to your hats because new and potential members are free. So if you're thinking of joining a new temple, seems like the time is right. Click here for more information.

The second is Boom BBQ at Five Towns College in Dix Hills. Free (yes, you read that right) hot dogs, hamburgers and musical acts. The Locksmiths, Panda Fan, Slang and electronic artist/DJ Meme will perform. Attendees can see film screenings by Victor Bonacore. The fun starts at 6 p.m. Click here for more information.
