Town sets schedule for Halloween parade downtown.

The town Halloween costume parade is set for Thursday, Oct. 31.

Last year's Halloween festivities were interrupted by the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.

Parade participants are asked to gather in front of the Huntington Post Office on Gerard Street at 4 p.m. The parade will head east on Gerard Street and south down Wall Street, ending where Wall Street hits Main Street. Parents and children are welcome to join the parade in costume.

The Huntington Business Improvement District, in cooperation with village merchants, will sponsor a “Safe Trick-or-Treat” program, and will pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.

For more information about the parade, call the Department of Citizen Services at 351-2877.
