Weather Alert: Thunderstorm Approaches Suffolk
The National Weather Service says small hail and up to 60 mph winds are possible.
The National Weather Service has issued a thunderstorm warning for Suffolk County through 1 p.m.
As of 12:10 p.m., the storm had reached Plainview, and it was moving east toward Half Hollow Hills and the surrounding areas.
Long Island Rail Road commuters on the Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Oyster Bay branches were advised by the railroad's website to anticipate delays up to an hour in both directions between Hicksville and Queens due to weather conditions.
