Cradle of Filth Cancels Tour

British extreme metal band was scheduled for Paramount March 28.

Cradle of Filth, the British extreme metal band, has canceled its North American tour because of immigration issues.

The band was scheduled to appear at The Paramount in Huntington on March 28.

No further details were immediately available on the immigration issue. But in a recent interview on the website Metal Underground, musician Dani Filth said, "Your IRS and government are making it difficult for anyone to come over at the moment with the taxies they levy and the visas, we’re having a problem with that. It seems like our country just lets anybody in and America is very stringent about even letting people visit."

The tour was to include Decapitated, The Faceless, and The Agonist.

The band said on its Facebook page: "Cradle Of Filth are really sorry to tell all of their fans that their US tour '28 Days Closer to Hell' is going to have to be cancelled, due to US immigration issues beyond the band’s control.

"They have been desperately trying to solve these problems, but it has become evident they are not going to be resolved in time for the band to embark on a tour that starts next week. "The band sincerely apologizes to all their fans and to the other acts on the tour and want to assure people they have made every effort possible to go ahead with the tour."

Refunds on tickets are available via  point of purchase – Ticketmaster or The Paramount Box Office.  For questions, please contact The Paramount at 631-673-7300.

The band formed in 1991. A New Zealand retailer was fined in 2012 on a charge of "possessing an objectionable publication" for selling clothing with the name of one of the band's albums. The clothing was ordered seized and destroyed.

The canceled tour was supposed to begin next week and run about a month at about 25 sites around the country.
