Island Songwriters Showcase Workshops

The Island Songwriter Showcase (ISS) is a Long Island-based organization of songwriters, lyricists, and performers. They get together to share and develop their passion for the art and craft of songwriting with the goal of becoming better songwriters and help others do the same.

At the heart of the ISS is the Songwriter’s Workshop. Here is an opportunity for anyone to present an original song to a group of serious songwriters and get helpful and experienced feedback.

There is a limit of one song per-writer. Bring an acoustic guitar, cassette tape (no Dolby n/r reduction is best) or CD. A piano is available for keyboard players. Please bring 25+ copies of the lyrics if possible.

Ensuing discussions regarding songs can range from passionate to hilarious, but they try to make instructive and, above all, constructive.

They meet the first monday of every month (except holidays and bad weather) from 7:30 - 11:00 p.m. at Five Towns College, usually Room 217.
