Folk Music Society Launches 44th Season

Reed Waddle to kick off Hard Luck Cafe Series Thursday at Cinema Arts Centre.

The Folk Music Society of Huntington will kick off its 44th season with its Hard Luck Cafe Series on Thursday at the Cinema Arts Centre. Musican Reed Waddle will be the featured performer of the night.

One of the popular features of the series is the "Open Mic" period where local musicians can perform some of their own work. One local musician, Lois Morton, has been part of the series and says it's a great opportunity for new talent to showcase their work as well as a chance to see talented musicians perform. Check out the video to get a preview of the upcoming season. For a full list of upcoming events and more information, you can check out www.fmsh.org

The FMS is a LOT more musically diverse than this article would make it seem. They have a monthly show at the Congregational Church of Huntington on Washington Drive and the acts they showcase there are usually nationally known professional musicians with pretty impressive credentials. I have seen some unforgettable shows there!
