HS West Singer to Perform at Vanderbilt Museum Cabaret Benefit

Kenna Koenigsberger will perform at a benefit Sunday.

A High School West student will perform in Huntington Cabaret’s original cabaret show “Fly Me to the Moon" on Sunday. 

Kenna Koenigsberger, an 11th grader at West, will perform at the benefit for the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Planetarium located at 180 Little Neck Road in Centerport.

Koenigsberger will be one out of a cast of 20 Long Island singers, comprising both adults and teens. The guest artist will be Tanya Holt, a well-known New York jazz and cabaret singer and Long Island resident.

Koenigsberger has performed previously in New York City at The Duplex, the Metropolitan Room, Don’t Tell Mama and B.B. King’s Blues Club. She has performed in more than 40 shows throughout the tri-state region, including Sandy in “Grease,” Gabriella in “High School Musical,” and Marcie in "Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

Linda Ray, director of Huntington Cabaret, is donating the show and producing the event. The evening will include an auction beginning at 6:15 p.m. with items donated by Long Island merchants and businesses as well as by New York City theaters, museums and restaurants. There will also be a sale of gourmet desserts at intermission.

Proceeds from the event will support the museum and its programs.

Tickets are $15. A limited number of seats are available, so early ticket purchase is strongly encouraged.
