Cathy Erway, The Art of Eating In:  How I Learned to Stop Spending and Love the Stove (2010)

A poorly paid executive assistant in New York, Erway decided to swear off restaurants for two years and she started cooking.  This book is based on her popular blog "Not Eating in New York." It is a memoir with recipes written in an easy conversational style.

Pagrach-Chandra, winner of the 2000 Sophie Coe Award for Food History, has written a distinctive book that is part history and part international cookbook.  Baking skill levels vary with the recipes and the difficulty is noted for each.
