More than 1,000 turn out for eighth annual Long Island 2 Day Breast Cancer Walk 2011.

It's no secret that Long Island has a high rate of breast cancer with 1 in 9 women being diagnosed. The Long Island 2 Day Walk  took walkers on an inspirational two-day, 35-mile journey through picturesque Suffolk County to raise awareness and funds for Long Island. 

This image was taken as more than 1,000 walkers, and survivors came across Smith Point Bridge to the closing ceremonies. http://www.li2day.org/
