Capital One Employees Volunteer With FSL

Melville-based company lends a hand to those in need across Long Island.

Employees from Capital One Bank, which is headquartered in Melville, recently volunteered their time at FSL Family Centers in Huntington Station and other locations around Long Island as part of the company's "One Week" program.

More than 65 men and women spent time in FSL’s preschool and after-school programs helping with pumpkin decorating, fall gardening, tutoring and homework help and other educational and recreational activities. Capital One also donated $1,000 to cover the cost of pumpkins, plants and other materials.

Through more than 50 different programs addressing numerous prevalent and pressing human needs across Long Island, the Family Service League delivers help and crisis intervention across numerous service areas. These include mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, job training, computer literacy and at-risk youth.
