Cheapest Gas in the Dix Hills Area

You might have to leave the zip code, but you won't have to go far.

Be wise when filling up your tank - check our guide to the cheapest gas prices around the Dix Hills area before you head to the gas station.

Two stations tie for the cheapest regular gas this week at $3.29/gallon. They are both located at the intersection of Deer Park Avenue and Nichols Road in Deer Park.  The Gulf station is at 1970 Deer Park Avenue and the Citgo station is at 1985 DPA.

If you don't want to head that far south because you live closer to Jericho Turnpike, you can visit the Shell station at the corner of E. Jericho Tpke and Elwood Road. They have regular gas for $3.33. That station has a Huntington zip code.

If you are further east, near Commack, close to you is the Mobil on the corner of Commack Road and the LIE North Service Road (695 Commack Road). They are selling regular gas for $3.35  a gallon.

If you know of another gas station that we've left out that sells comparably priced gas, email me at karenf@patch.com.

When you visit the Citgo station (Deer Hills Service, LLC) @ 1985 Deer Park Ave., say "hello" to owner "Kevin Joyce", his brothers and to "Mitu", the one usually behind the counter, for me. They call me "Big John". Besides giving you the best gasoline deal around they do excellent car care service of all types. All hands are courteous and really out to serve you to the best of their abilty which is extremely high. My Doctor friend, "Phil", always has a new Mercedes Benz. He will only take it here to Kevin. Doc "Phil" also flys his own plane. He told me, "John, if I could I would bring the plane here for service". Ladies, if your windshield needs a cleaning or tires need air, "Mitu" is happy to oblige and will help you out ASAP. The icing on the cake is, they are HONEST ! They treat you well because they want to see you again and I'll bet you'll want to see them. Their motto is, "Service is our Business"

There is a Hess station a few blocks south of the Gulf and Citgo stations on Deer Park Ave (corner of Grand Blvd) that is comparable and there is a Getty station on the corner of Bayshore Road and Commack Road that is usually evern less than those Gas Stations.

Perry, Thanks for the reply. This kind of "info" may become very important to many people come next year. I have been told, "Don't be surprised if the price of a gallon of gasoline goes to over $4.o0/gal. and even approaches $5.00/gal. next year". This is not certain yet but there are danger signs this can come to fruition. Anyone with a gas guzzling SUV etc. maybe should start thinking trade-in ? What makes it worse is how the price of home heating oil is closely related to gasoline prices.
