Cheapest Gas in the Dix Hills Area

Gas prices seem to be holding steady right now in the area at just under $3 a gallon.

Curious as to how much the rest of the country is paying for a gallon of gas? Fifteen states are paying under $2.70 a gallon, including our neighbor, New Jersey. 

Only four states are paying more per gallon than New Yorkers are. Any ideas which states those might be? Hawaii tops the list at $3.50 a gallon; Alaska is next at $3.40; then California at $3.11 and then Washington at $3.05. 

If you don't want to drive to New Jersey for gas...

We have a five-way tie. Everyone seems to be charging $2.99 (cash) a gallon for regular gas.

We have the two gas stations at the corner of Deer Park Avenue and Nichols Road: The Citgo station at 1985 DPA The Gulf station is right across the street at 1970 DPA. 

And then we have three Commack stations:

You may want to try the two stations right at the corner of Commack Road and the LIE Service Road.  There is the Mobil on the corner of Commack Road and the LIE North Service Road (695 Commack Road).

Right across the street from the Mobil is a Shell station (700 Commack Road).

And there is the Citgo at 621 Commack Road and Crooked Hill Road.
