New Gym Opens in Melville

Blink Fitness and physical therapy center open on Route 110.

The intersection of Route 110 and Pinelawn Road in Melville is now a one-stop spot for health.

The location is home to two new businesses; Blink Fitness and Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. The physical therapy practice is located within the gym at 121 Broadhollow Road.

Blink Fitness, owned by Equinox gyms, had its ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, March 16, along with Professional Physical Therapy. The Melville location is both Blink's first Long Island location and Professional Physical Therapy's Suffolk County debut.

The gym is spacious at 17,000 square-feet and offers 100 cardio machines, as well as 50 strength training equipment pieces and a stretching zone. Personal training and small group training, such as boot camp and core conditioning classes are available as well.

Attached to the treadmills and ellipticals are personal televisions that members can watch and listen to using headphones.

Unlike its pricier parent company, Blink Fitness offers affordable membership packages at either $19 or $15 per month.

Blink Fitness will have its grand opening on March 20.

Located within the gym is Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, founded by Half Hollow Hills native, Adam Elberg. He is a licensed Physical Therapist, NATA Certified Athletic Trainer and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Running the facility will be physical therapist Jeffrey Yellin, who is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy will have its grand opening on March 19.
