"Real Housewives" Star Visits Tanger

Cindy Barshop of "The Real Housewives of New York City" unveils new beauty line at the Arches.

"Real Housewives of New York City" star Cindy Barshop, a Long Island native, gave fans and Completely Bare Spa clients an exclusive sneak preview of new products at the Tanger Outlets at the Arches in Deer Park on Saturday.

The new beauty collection which is set to debut this fall features one-of-a-kind hair removal and skincare products including self waxing kits, numbing spray, hair inhibitors, sunscreen and body washes. In addition to introducing Barshop's new products, Completely Bare Spa professionals offered discounted spa treatments throughout the day.

Barshop, who grew up in Wantagh and graduated from Levittown's MacArthur High School, opened her first Completely Bare Spa on Madison Avenue in Manhattan in 1998 after working in telecommuncations for IBM. Since its birth, the Completely Bare Spa enterprise has grown into a nationally known name with nine locations through New York City, Dallas, Los Angeles and Atlanta.

The Bravo TV reality star said she always felt like more of an entrepreneur, and professional hair removal was the perfect field to jump into.

"I had a bikini problem myself," said Barshop. "I knew about a new technology that was out. I tested it out and knew everyone would want it."

According to Barshop, the Completely Bare services have helped many men and women experiencing similar issues with body hair.

"Hair removal is fun and sexy, but when you have a problem with it, it really is a problem," she said. "If you try to remove it regularly, it won't work."

Completely Bare Spa locations offer state-of-the-art laser hair removal services and professional waxing. "High tech" locations have upped the ante, adding massage therapy and weightloss treatments to the Completely Bare name.

Barshop's next location will open in Roslyn, the first Completely Bare Spa to hit Long Island.

"The culture of Long Island and my parents' motivation taught me to always strive harder today," Barshop said of her hometown.

"The Roslyn spa will be in an amazing complex where they're taking these great places from New York and bringing them to Long Island - we really wanted to be a part of it," she added of the future "high tech" location.

Debbie Zaso of East Meadow is a big fan of Barshop on the "Real Housewives" series and has been anticipating a Completely Bare Spa experience for quite some time.

"I've been trying to get a reservation in the city but now I can go to the Long Island store soon," said Zaso during Barshop's appearance at Tanger Outlets. "I like the products I saw today, and I think Cindy was very personable."

The upcoming Long Island spa in Roslyn to open at 250 South Service Rd., is scheduled to launch in November, although a definitive date has not been set.
