Restaurant Gets Tebowed, Sanchized

With training camp in New York only weeks away, the Jets QB duo celebrate in Laguna Beach.

The Laguna Beach, Calif. branch of the popular high-end sushi chain Katsuya celebrated its one-year anniversary this week, with master chef Katsuya Uechi dishing out his signature yellowtail sashimi and seared tuna meals.

Not on the menu: grilled pigskin—but New York Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow showed up anyway.

Sanchez is an investor in the restaurant. He's also holding a preseason passing camp at the MVHS football field right now, .

Sanchez, the Jets' starting QB, is mentoring Tebow, his backup and the much-yakked-about sensation of last year's NFL season when he was with the Denver Broncos. Tebow was cut loose after the Broncos signed a guy named Manning—some rookie washout, probably—but not before Tebow inspired seemingly rational people to fall to their knees in homage to his penchant for snatching fourth-quarter come-from-behind victories from the jaws of certain defeat.

Also at Katsuya: fellow Jets Santonio Holmes and Scotty McKnight, who brought along celeb squeeze Hayden Panettiere, who last year was rumored to be dating Sanchez, which on the surface seems awkward, but everyone is apparently cool with it, so ... no judgement!

At one point during the party, Sanchez stood up and toasted the restaurant and Uechi with a shot of sake. Sake today, QB sacks tomorrow ...

Why is this article featured in the Half Hollow Hills patch? This is not local news.

Yea I don't think anyone cares that Sanchez, Tebow and the Giddy Up Gang went to dinner in LA....I'm not a geography expert but I still know what LA is on the under side of the US.
