Rocco's Deli Holds Grand Opening in Ronkonkoma

Ronkonkoma residents have another fine place to grab a bite to eat this week as Rocco's Deli held its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony last week. The deli, owned and operated by Joseph Pellicane, had a soft launch back in January, but officially kicked off its business on September 27. Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore was on-site to help with the ribbon cutting.

Muratore presented a certificate to Pellicane who was joined by other lawmakers and members of the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce.

“My compliments to the chef and congratulations to Mr. Pellicane,” Muratore stated in a release. “I wish the staff at Rocco’s Deli much success, and hope that community members continue to support our local business owners.”

Kidtastic in Farmingville Holds Grand Re-Opening

Last Saturday the Kidtastic Developmental Center on Portion Road held its grand re-opening. The center, operated by certified instructor Dawn Garret, initially opened its doors in September of 2011. The new facility offers a variety of classes, such as Mozart's Todders, DaVinci's Discoveries and Picasso's Prep.

The school is designed in a way that allows parents to observe their child throughout the day if they choose, and includes a mix of individual and cooperative learning environments.

“I believe in an Open Door policy for both the children and parents," Garret stated in a release. "I wanted to develop a program that would allow parents to feel comfortable with me as an educator and help them promote a positive learning environment for their children at home as well as in school.”
