Melville, NY June 23, 2014 - Daniel Hanson, of Long Beach, was recently awarded with the HJMT Scholarship, during the high school’s Annual Awards Night on Thursday, May 29th. The HJMT Public Relations Scholarship, now in its fourth year, supports Long Beach High School students looking to major in Public Relations in college.
“I grew up in Long Beach and graduated from Long Beach High School,” said Hilary Topper, CEO and President of HJMT Public Relations Inc. “It’s important to me to give back to students and help motivate them to follow their dreams.”
Mr. Hanson discovered his love for writing during his internships at the Long Island Herald and MSG Varsity. He is also a blogger managing and writing his own sports related blog. He will be attending The Lawrence Herbert School of Communications, at Hofstra University, in the fall.

The HJMT Public Relations Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior with an outstanding social media presence and is entering into a communications, public relations or social media area of study. Students were asked to explain why they should receive the scholarship via Twitter in 140 characters or less. Mr. Hanson was chosen based on his winning Tweet “@SavantSports: Help me study PR/Journ I Blog 4 on.fb.me/1clU9yL Interned @LIHerald & want more experience @HJMT Need a summer intern? That’s #YILovePr,” which demonstrated his understanding and enthusiasm for Public Relations/Social Media.
