Manly Offerings at Walt Whitman Shops

Walt Whitman Shops will host its first ever HISday expo for men, a daylong event featuring Long Island’s most man-focused resources and essentials.

Taking place on Saturday, June 7 from 12 to 6 p.m., the expo will present men with a wealth of information from exhibitors, all with a focus on health services, products and more.

“We are pleased to give men a chance to enjoy a day tailored just for them,” said Kathleen Herrmann, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Walt Whitman Shops.  “From health and wellness to home improvement and even a chance to improve their golf game, expert advice and guidance will be dispensed during the HISday expo for men.

Men can take advantage of a multitude of offerings including free health screenings (with a valid insurance card) performed by Dr. Perry Frankel of Advanced Cardiovascular Diagnostics, which focuses on the prevention of significant debilitating events ultimately saving lives.  A Board Certified Cardiologist and Lipidologist and multi-state diagnostician, Dr. Frankel has designed a strategically targeted methodology to identify individuals who are most at risk for a cardiac event.

Other exhibitors who will be on-site at Walt Whitman Shops include The Wealth Plan (financial services and wealth management), Power Home Remodeling Group (energy efficient windows and roofing), Frozen Ropes Syosset (baseball sports training and fitness center), Long Island Skin Care at Quantum Wellness Center (offering free ear and nose waxing), LI Power Systems, Inc., (featuring generators), Nassau Flyers (flight training, aircraft sales and aircraft management), Village East Gifted (enrichment center for gifted learners), National Home Grocer (all natural foods delivered to customers’ homes), Swingaway (baseball lessons in proper hitting technique), KOGA (kickboxing and yoga demonstrations), New York Cosmos (professional soccer team), Southampton INN (pool and tennis memberships and golf outings) and more.  Retailers participating in this event include AT&T, Brookstone, Le Creuset, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, Microsoft and Sony.

Participants will have a chance to show off their club swinging skills during a Golf Challenge, featuring a lifelike background and special Velcro practice balls.  The 2013-2014 America’s Tropical Beauties Pageant winner and Grand Supreme Queen CJ Marie will make a special appearance from 1 to 5 p.m. And, music will be provided by Brian Brozzoski Accoustic, who will play two 50-minute sets at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Donna Bloom of Wise Mind Hypnosis will be on-site to conduct two sessions – “The 5 minute Focus Enhancement Technique to Improve Your Golf Game,” which centers on the “hush-hush” training tool used by elite athletes and professionals to consistently achieve peak performance on the golf course; and “Get Perspective on Stress and Anxiety,” illustrating simple self-hypnosis techniques to help manage stress and reactions to situations.
