Concerned Citizen

Hurricane Sandy

(I am not a doctor; just a concerned citizen on Long Island with a female family member having health issues.)

It's been a few months since Hurricane Sandy.  As time goes on, more and more "items" will arise regarding illnesses

We recently met with a doctor on Long Island.  Many female patients have exhibited many of these symptoms:

  • Increased body hair

  • Missed periods for prolonged periods of time

  • Deepening voices

  • Tiredness

  • Throat irritation

  • Skin breaking out

  • After blood and hormone testing,  it was evident something was dreadfully wrong.  The tests showed dramatic drops in Thyroid levels (almost no activity), female hormone levels dramatically decreased, and other test results out of the normal range.

This specific doctor mentioned he had 60 patients with the same symptoms.  He is speaking with local hospitals and agencies to determine the appropriate action.

Is it the result of pesticides? Maybe. Who knows?

For the time being, he is recommending drinking lots of water (bottled) until he gets the suggested protocol from the hospitals and agencies.  His nurse (age 23) had developed a full mustache and deepening voice since Hurricane Sandy. She has been drinking a lot of water and her mustache is almost gone and her voice is back to normal.

If a female is showing similar symptoms, you may want to get a full battery of blood tests.  Some doctors will "poo poo" you on this, but it's worth knowing if something is hormonally wrong.
