Due to current economic conditions, the thriving business world of years passed now is a distant memory. The challenges of running a small business are magnified by increasing competition, waning consumer demand, new regulatory requirements and a retrenchment in business lending by commercial banks. As a small business owner, you might be asking yourself a few questions. What happens now? Is it the right time to make a change? What changes need to be made? And how can I ensure that my business will standout against the competition?

Knowing where to turn to find the right information can be one of the biggest struggles a small business owner faces. NEFCU, a leading credit union serving all Long Island’s banking needs, has launched a new online business resource, equipping small businesses with all the tools they need to succeed.

The site business.mynefcu.org provides visitors with a variety of information that can help them succeed including a listing of upcoming events/seminars, business counseling and development resources, and networking groups. The site also includes a blog that provides educational information on all aspects of business including finances, law, marketing, human resources, etc., and a LinkedIn group called the Long Island Small Business Hub that allows for open discussion between small business owners.

This new service is creating a community for Long Island small businesses and giving small business owners a platform to converse. The service acts as a conduit to other professional groups on Long Island and provides tips and resources that will help answer the lingering questions and concerns of small business owners.

NEFCU is also holding networking events, seminars and workshops to help foster new relationships that will help to move your business forward. When businesses come together, everyone wins as support and knowledge is enhanced.

Being a part of a small business can come along with a lot of unanswered questions and confusion. Here at NEFCU, we are eager to meet you and offer your small businesses the resources it needs to grow. To find out how we can assist your business, contact us at 516-714-2926.
