Hottest Art Trend on the West Coast Comes to Long Island at sat/nite/draw…
The Art League of Long Island is adding a new event to Long Island’s social and cultural calendar! We are taking the hottest art trend on the West Coast to the East Coast and hosting our first Saturday night event on Dec. 14 from 7-10pm called sat/nite/draw…
Like our successful Art After Dark series on selected Friday nights, ALLI is opening our doors to art lovers of all levels (21 years old
plus) to participate in a social event with an artistic vibe. It is an
opportunity to be part of the local art scene, whether you are an artist of any level or someone who just likes being in a cultural atmosphere.
This will be more than a typical art class - it¹ll be an art experience. Agenda for sat/nite/draw… includes: figure drawing with a twist! Sketch live models dressed in spectacularly themed costumes - this evening’s theme is "Steampunk Style” a mix of British
Victorian meets Wild West meets Futuristic! These professional models are not
your ordinary art school models - they are from Gallery Girls, one of LA’s
exciting art modeling agencies and flying to New York for this special night
of art at ALLI. They will be posing throughout the evening in their
custom fantastic Steampunk outfits. It¹s B.Y.O.S., bring your own
sketchbook/paper and art supplies appropriate for quick sketching. There will also be a pin-up board for everyone to display their artwork as the evening progresses.
Also at sat/nite/draw… is a special celebrity artist appearance and book
signing by Pierre Bernard, Jr. (of Late Night with Conan O’Brien fame). Pierre will start the evening with a talk about his art career in NYC and LA,
and offer creative encouragement and critique throughout the drawing session. These social drawing events have become so much a part of his life on the West
Coast, he recently published his own book, “18x24 and other Sizes” showcasing
his personal portfolio of live model drawings. It’s a perfect time to draw with
Pierre and purchase an autographed copy of his book. To learn more about Pierre
Bernard, Jr., visit totallygraphic.com.
