The Hunt is a Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser spearheaded by the Melville Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional Group.
With a goal of raising $50,000 through donations and corporate sponsorship the fun-filled scavenger Hunt begins at the 300 Long Island Bowling Center on Route 110 in Melville. Corporate and family teams must bowl a strike as their first task before utilizing clues to find th e treasures of Long Island on and around the Route 110 Corridor from Amityville through Huntington. The day ends with a big party celebration back at 300 Bowling alley with prizes, entertainment and awards for the top fundraisers and winning teams.
“Hunters” form teams of 4-5 individuals with one “Hunter” designated as Hunt Team Leader. Hunt Teams fundraise during the months leading up to Hunt Day and earn Headstart points for the total number of fundraising dollars raised by the team prior to Hunt day.
On Hunt Day participants will meet at 9:30AM at 300 Long Island Bowling Center where they will receive a Clue Booklet which will lead them on an adventure in and around the Route 110 corridor. Traveling in cars, Hunters will find treasure, take photos; participate in challenges and answer trivia questions; collecting points along the way. Hunters strategize with their team to plan out their day in a way that will maximize the points they earn.
At 4:30PM Hunters return to 300 Long Island where points will be tallied, winners announced and exciting prizes awarded. Hunt day will end with a celebration including food, beer, wine, soft drinks, bowling, & raffles.
