Each day more than 26 million American are impacted by Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Each year on Long Island, thousands of residents and businesses gather together to champion the cause for finding a cure for this disease. On October 14th and 20th Long Islanders will do this once again as they join JDRF Long Island Chapter at the Walk To Cure diabetes.
The JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes brings Long Islanders together in a healthy activity for a worthy goal, works to raise awareness of the disease and helps raise funds to help find a cure for T1D. Last year, the walk raised more than $1.3 Million for research!
JDRF Long Island Chapter’s Walk to Cure Diabetes has two walk locations for 2012. The first walk will be on Saturday, October 14, 2012 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip and the second will be on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. Whether you live in Suffolk or Nassau County we’re hoping that you will join us on one or both weekends to walk with us!
Please consider supporting The Walk to Cure Diabetes this year or consider walking yourself! No matter which way you support the JDRF, your donation will help bring us one step closer to the prevention and cure of Type 1 Diabetes.
