Legislator D'Amaro Announces Winter Senior Advocates Schedules

Don’t Let the Weather Leave You Out in the Cold!

The Suffolk County Office for the Aging has released its Winter 2014 Senior Advocate Schedule.  Senior Advocates meet with residents aged 60 and over at regularly-scheduled times in specific locations throughout the community to provide assistance with food stamps, Medicare savings programs, Medicaid applications, Heating Emergency Assistance Program (HEAP) applications, answer questions and make additional recommendations and referrals.   

This winter, they will be visiting the following locations in the Town of Babylon:

· Deer Park Library: Tuesdays, Jan. 28 and March 25, 9 – 11 am· Lindenhurst Library: Monday, Feb. 24, 10 – 11:30 am

· North Amityville Nutrition Center: Tuesdays, Jan. 7, Feb. 4 and March 4, 10 am – 1 pm

· Rainbow Center (Lindenhurst): Wednesdays, Jan. 8, Feb. 5 and March 5, 9 – 11 am

· Spangle Drive Center (North Babylon): Mondays, Jan. 6,  Feb. 3 and March 3, 9 am - 12 pm

· Tanner Park Nutrition Center (Copiague): Wednesdays, Jan.22, Feb. 19 and March 19, 9 am – 1 pm

· West Babylon Library: Thursdays, Jan. 23 and March 27, 1 – 3 pm

· Wyandanch Nutrition Center: Fridays, Jan. 3, Jan. 17,  Feb. 21, March 7 and March 21, 9:30 am – 1 pm

An advocate will also be visiting the following locations in the Town of Huntington:

· Huntington Library: Mondays, Jan. 13 and March 10, 10 am – 12 pm

· Huntington Nutrition Center: Wednesdays, Jan. 29, Feb. 26 and March 26 from 9 am – 12 pm

· Paumanack Village I & II (Greenlawn): Tuesdays Jan. 28, Feb. 18 and March 25 from 10 am – 1 pm

· Paumanack Village V & VI (Melville): Tuesdays, Jan. 14, Feb. 11 and March 11 from 9 am – 12 pm

· South Huntington Library: Thursdays, Jan. 30 and March 27 from 10 – 11:30 am
