Georgia Fire Fighters Remember Dix Hills Fire Chief
Event raises funds, honors the memory of Terry Farrell who lost his life on 9/11.
Fire fighters in Cumberland, Ga., this past Sunday held a fundraiser in memory of Terry Farrell, former chief of the Dix Hills Fire Department and member of FDNY’s Rescue 4, who lost his life in the attacks on the World Trade Center 11 years ago.
According to MDJonline.com, the annual Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb fundraiser this year included about 200 participants who climbed a 22-story building five times to equal the 110 stories first responders at the World Trade Center climbed on 9/11. Each participant paid a $25 fee.
All funds raised from the stair-climbing event and after party at a local eatery in Marietta, Ga., will go to help sick or injured fire fighters throughout Georgia, the report said.
