Charles J. Kaczinski II, World War II Vet, Dies

Resident of Melville, 90, was retired airline mechanic.

Charles J. Kaczinski II, 90, of Melville,  passed away on Nov. 6 at Huntington Hospital.

Born in Plains Township, Pa., he was a son of the late Charles and Anna Kaczinski and a 1941 graduate of Plains High School. 

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945 and remained an active supporter of the Marine Corps until his death.

He retired as a mechanic from United Airlines at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (Kosko) Kaczinski.

Survivors include his son, Charles J. Kaczinski III; daughter, Mia Dunn, and son-in-law, Brian Dunn, all of Pasadena, Calif.; sister, Theresa Horan, Kingston; sister-in-law, Barbara Kosko, Port Washington, brother-in-law, Salvatore Lanzetta, Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said Nov. 9 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Melville, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton.
