Car Strikes Pole in Melville, Four Injured

Early morning crash on Route 110 sends four to the hospital.

Four people were injured, two seriously, when a woman lost control of her car early Friday morning in Melville and struck a pole, police said. 

Jaqueline DiPalma, of Bay Shore, was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima southbound on Route 110, just north of the Northern State Parkway, when she apparently lost control of her vehicle at 3:10 a.m., police said. 

DiPalma, 27, and the three passengers in the vehicle were all injured in the crash, police said.

DiPalma was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where she was listed in serious condition. Jessica Fine, 21, of Lindenhurst, was airlifted by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center, also in serious condition.

Jessica McGirt, 22, of Wyandanch, was also transported to Nassau University Medical Center where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Trevor Madison, 22, of Wyandanch, was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
