Car Slams Into USPS Truck

Crash in Melville Monday morning sends driver to hospital.

A car collided into the back of postal truck Monday morning in Melville. 

The driver of a BMV sedan, which was headed north on Route 110 near Melville Park Road, collided with the USPS truck around 11:20 a.m., officials on the scene said. 

The driver of the truck continued about 100 yards before stopping and realizing that a car was stuck under the back of the truck.

Suffolk ESU and the Melville Fire Department removed parts of the vehicle in order to get the male driver out.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
