Crash Closes Deer Park Avenue Sunday

On Sunday afternoon there was a car crash on Deer Park Avenue at Ryder Avenue.

 The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to a Sunday afternoon crash at about 2:50 p.m. on Deer Park Avenue and Ryder Avenue. 

The crash involved a Honda sedan and a Land Rover SUV. 

About 25 firefighters and EMS personnel responded with two heavy rescue trucks, two ambulances, paramedic and fire police units, led by Chief Robert Adcock.

The female driver of the Honda and her young child suffered injuries, and were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip by the Dix Hills Fire Department Rescue Squad. 

Southbound traffic on Deer Park Avenue was diverted at Half Hollow Road until the wreckage was cleared from the roadway.
