Crime Log: Ex-Boyfriend Found Hiding in Bushes

A look at recent crimes in Half Hollow Hills.

Arrests:

  • Luis Vasquez of Massapequa was arrested in Dix Hills on Sept. 5 on a charge of DWI, first offense.

  • Gregory Friedman of Dix Hills was arrested on Sept. 9 in West Babylon on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

  • Beauvoir Jeancharles of Dix Hills was arrested on Sept. 8 in Deer Park on a charge of driving an unregistered itinerant vehicle.

  • Cory Shelowitz of Dix Hills was arrested on Aug. 31 in Wyandanch on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

  • Scott Peterson of Massapequa Park was arrested on Sept. 6 in Melville on a charge of unlawful possession of marijuana. He was also charged with exposure of a person.

  • Tiffany Vaughn of Norwalk was arrested on Sept. 5 in Melville on a charge of prostitution.

  • Eduardo Sevillano of East Elmhurst was arrested on Aug. 30 in Melville on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree.

  • Jeffrey Hagler of Melville was arrested on Sept. 3 in Northport on a charge of DWI, first offense.

  • Harry Zolotas of Melville was arrested on Sept. 6 in Huntington on a charge of robbery with a dangerous instrument.

  • Incidents

    • An incident of harassment was reported on Sept. 11 at Burnhan Lane in Dix Hills.

    • An incident of harassment was reported on Sept. 10 at Burrs Lane in Dix Hills in which a complainant said she feared for her safety after her brother allegedly assaulted her.

  • An incident of criminal mischief was reported at Langhans Ct. in Dix Hills in which a complainant said that a 21-year-old son broke a car and items in the home.

  • An incident of harassment was reported at Country Squire Ct. in Dix Hills on Sept. 7 in which a 20-year-old female was allegedly beat by her uncle. The female refused rescue, police noted.

  • An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 1 at Trescott St. in Dix Hills in which an intoxicated step-son allegedly pushed a complainant's husband.

  • An incident of harassment was reported on Sept. 1 at Burrs Lane in Dix Hills in which a complainant was allegedly assaulted by a known male subject while at work.

  • An incident of aggravated harassment was reported on Sept. 10 at Roundtree Drive in Melville in which a complainant told police he/she was receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown subject.

  • An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 10 at Arrowood Road in Melville. Police said that a rock the size of a tennis ball was thrown at the house.

  • An incident of harassment was reported on Sept. 9 at Threepence Drive in Melville in which police said the complainant's ex-boyfriend was found hiding in the bushes.

  • An incident of harassment was reported on Sept. 7 at Treeview Drive in Melville in which the complainant told police her husband was "abusing" and "pushing" her two children.
