Crime Log: Hit In the Head With a Hammer

A look at recent criminal activity in Half Hollow Hills.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department.

An incident of harassment was reported on Feb. 6 at Seaman Neck Road in Dix Hills in which the 911 caller said their mother hit them in the head with a hammer.

An incident of aggravated harassment was reported on Feb. 2 at Arielle Court in Dix Hills. Police noted that threatening phone calls were made.

An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Jan. 31 at Old Country Road in Dix Hills. Police noted that a prior trespasser reappeared on the 911 caller’s property.

An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Jan. 31 at Jericho Turnpike in Dix Hills. Police noted that a back door window was broken on a transit bus.

An incident of aggravated harassment was reported on Jan. 28 at Gerber Street in Dix Hills.

An incident of harassment was reported on Jan. 28 at Oriole Way in Dix Hills. Police indicated that the incident was a boyfriend vs. girlfriend dispute.

An incident of burglary was reported on Jan. 27 at Millet Street in Dix Hills. The 911 caller told police that a man in a black hoodie entered the home through a back window.

An incident of harassment was reported on Jan. 25 at Park Avenue in Dix Hills. Police noted that a black Escalade had been cutting drivers off. 

An incident of grand larceny was reported on Feb. 5 at Ruland road in Melville. The 911 caller told police that a wallet, watch and other items were taken.

An incident of harassment was reported on Feb. 5 at Cottontail Road in Melville. The 911 caller told police that her ex husband assaulted her.

An incident of harassment was reported on Feb. 4 at Avalon Court Drive in Melville. Police noted at a violent 15-year-old hit their sister in the head.

An incident of burglary was reported on Feb. 1 at Bondsburry Street in Melville. The 911 caller told police that a kitchen window was found propped open.

An incident of petit larceny was reported on Jan. 25 at Walt Whitman Road in Melville. Police noted that there was an altercation between a female shoplifter and a security guard.

An incident of grand larceny was reported on Jan. 24 at Ruland Road in Melville. Police noted that items were taken from two vehicles.
