Crime Log: Prostitution, Family Drama

A look at recent arrests and criminal incidents in Half Hollow Hills.

Arrests

  • James Monteleon of Ardsley was arrested on July 29 in Dix Hills on a charge of aggrevated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree.

  • Robert Weber of Dix Hills was arrested on July 26 in Dix Hills on a charge on DWI with a prior conviction within 10 years.

  • Malcom Sargent of Shirley was arrested in Dix Hills on July 20 on a charge of aggrevated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the second degree. Police stated that sargent has had more than three driving suspensions.

  • Nicholas Otten of Commack was arrested on July 19 in Dix Hills on a charge of unlwaful possession of marijuana.

  • Miles Stover of Melville was arrested on July 30 on a charge of aggrevated DWI. No prior alocohol violations were recorded.

  • Frank Grosso of Melville was arrested on July 27 in Melville on a charge of criminal mischief with intent to damage property.

  • Amanda Denman of Colton was arrested on July 26 in Melville on a charge of prostitution.

  • Incidents

    • An incident of harassment in the second degree was recorded on July 30 at Gwynne Road in West Hills. Police reported that the complainant was being beaten by the mother’s boyfriend.

    • An incident of harassment in the second degree was recorded on July 30 at Avalon Court Dr. in Melville. 
    • An incident of criminal mischeif in the fourth degree was recorded on July 27 at Walker Place in Melville. Police reported that the complainant’s sister assaulted her boyfriend and damaged her vehicle.

    • An incident of burglary in the second degree was reported on July 27 at Elderwood Lane in Melville.

    • An incident of grand larceny in the second degree was reported on July 26 at Hub Drive in Melville. Police indicated that there was a theft of rebate funds.
