Crime Report: Lights Broken, Assault, Harassment

Recent police activity in the Dix Hills/Melville area.

Incidents

  • An incident of criminal mischief to a car was reported on Baylis Road in Melville at 2 p.m. on May 25.

  • An incident of harassment was reported on Deer Park Avenue in Dix Hills at 12:15 p.m. on May 26.

  • An incident of harassment was reported on Ormand Street in Dix Hills at 7 a.m. on May 26.

  • An incident of criminal mischief, in which police say 4-5 females were intoxicated or on drugs and turning violent, was reported on Burrs Lane in Dix Hills at 6:38 a.m. on May 26.

  • An incident of criminal mischief to property, in which lights were broken, was reported on Campbell Drive in Dix Hills at 11 p.m. on May 27.

  • An incident of criminal mischief to a mailbox was reported on McCullough Drive in Dix Hills at 12:01 a.m. on May 27.

  • An incident of assault was reported on Burrs Lane in Dix Hills at 7 a.m. on May 27.

  • An incident of harassment, in which police say a woman was assaulted by her husband, was reported on Walt Whitman Road in Melville at 7:55 a.m. on May 28.

  • Arrests

    • Laschawn Taylor, of Huntington, was arrested in Dix Hills on May 24 on a charge of petit larceny. 

    • Daniel Capobianco, of Baldwin, was arrested in Melville on May 24 on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

    • Christian Raspanti, of Dix Hills, was arrested in Dix Hills on May 25 on a charge of criminal obstruction of breathing. 

  • Oskana Gibson, of Dix Hills, was arrested in Dix Hills on May 26 on a charge of second-degree harassment. 

  • Chasity Moran, of Dix Hills, was arrested in Dix Hills on May 26 on a charge of criminal mischief-intent to damage property.

  • Mahwish Javed, of Melville, was arrested in Melville on May 26 on a charge of petit larceny. 

  • Jose Alberto, of Hicksville, was arrested in Melville on May 28 on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
