Crime Report: Menacing, Harassment, Several Burglaries

Recent police activity in the Dix Hills/Melville area.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Incidents

  • An incident of harassment was reported at the Waldbaum's on Vanderbilt Parkway in Dix Hills at 9:34 p.m. on March 13.

  • A pocketbook was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at at 8 p.m. on March 15.  

  • A burglary was reported on Westminster Avenue in Dix Hills at 11 a.m. on March 18.  

  • A burglary was reported on Old East Neck Road in Melville at 9:30 a.m. on March 19. 

  • A burglary was reported on Weymouth Street in Dix Hills at 8:22 a.m. on March 21. 

  • A burglary was reported on Marlin Street in Dix Hills at 1 p.m. on March 24. 

  • An incident of aggravated harassment was reported on Sycamore Street in Melville at 9:42 a.m. on March 24.

  • A burglary was reported on Mont Avenue in Dix Hills at 9:45 a.m. on March 26. 

  • An incident of harassment was reported on Villas Circle in Melville at 3:30 p.m. on March 26. 

Arrests

  • Christopher Corallo, of Patchogue, was arrested in Dix Hills on March 13 on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.  

  • Mark Ghossn, of Dix Hills, was arrested in Melville on March 18 on and resisting arrest. 

  • Myriam Freire, of Jamaica, was arrested in Melville on March 19 on a charge of petit larceny.

  • John Lamb, of Huntington, was arrested in Dix Hills on March 19 on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. 

  • Timothy Sexton, of Dix Hills, was arrested in Dix Hills on March 20 on a charge of driving while intoxicated.  

  • Thomas Valentino, of Dix Hills, was arrested in Dix Hills on March 24 on a charge of menacing with a weapon. 

  • Vito Frabizio, of Deer Park, was arrested in Dix Hills on March 24 on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
