Deer Park

A Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with allegedly neglecting to provide proper care for his 95-year old mother who suffers with Alzheimer’s disease and lives in Deer Park, Suffolk County Police said.

Joseph Coppa, 57, was charged with Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Disabled person, according to police.

Huntington

A Long Island IT technician has been accused of taking iPhone video recordings in a faculty bathroom at Countrywood Primary Center in South Huntington, according to police.

Police say Kevin Clancy, 31, of 10-A Glenn Ave. in Glen Head was charged with second degree unlawful surveilance, a felony.

"Following a lengthy investigation, Second Squad detectives arrested him on April 25," said a police spokesperson. "He was released on bail and is scheduled for arraignment on a later date."

Steve Bartholomew, spokesman for the South Huntington school district said the device was discovered in a unisex bathroom at the school April 19 by school officials.

"Police were called immediately and the phone was turned over," said Bartholomew to Patch.

The school district was informed by police that the video contained footage of unidentified adults using the bathroom, according to a statement posted on the school district website from school district Superintendent Thomas Shea.

"Presently, the police have indicated that this incident does not involve any children," said the letter. 

An arrest is only an accusation; it does not constitute guilt.

Farmingdale

Suffolk County Police are seeking a man who stole a piece of equipment last week worth $18,000 from an East Farmingdale pharmaceutical company.

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives said a detection unit from a pill counting machine was taken.

They said that at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, a man entered the back of  LLC, at 226B Sherwood Ave., took the unit and left the building.

An upstate woman was busted for driving drunk on the Southern State Parkway using a license that's been suspended more than 10 times, state police said.
