Armed Robber Strikes Deer Park Bank

New York Commercial Bank robbed Thursday afternoon.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at Deer Park's New York Commercial Bank Thursday afternoon.

Police say a man entered the bank, located at 720 Grand Boulevard at approximately 1:15 p.m., approached a teller, displayed a handgun and passed a note to the employee demanding cash.  

The teller complied with the robber's demands and the man fled on foot.  He was last seen running southeast through the bank parking lot.  

The robber is described as a white male, 40-55 years old, with a slim build. He was unshaven, wearing a baseball hat, a gray long sleeved shirt under a blue tee shirt with graphics, light blue denim pants and glasses.  

Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the vicinity of the bank robbery, witnessed the incident, or has any information related to this robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.
